Salt Lake Marathon 5K

Today was the Salt Lake Marathon and we did the 5K (Sheridan, Ryan, Gray and I) and it was a lot of fun. Sheridan and I stayed up until 1 am talking, which wasn't our best move but the race was on regardless. Gray wished me luck at the starting line and let me know where I could find her when I finished and she was off. I must admit I walked more than I ran but it was worth every step. I totally plan on doing it again next year and maybe, just maybe I can get a decent time. Gray ran the kids 1K with her cousins an hour after she was done with the 5K. She loved the whole experience and wants to do more races in the future. Monday Aunt Sarah is running in the Boston Marathon and we have all the more appreciation for how awesome she is and how hard she has worked. Out of the four of us who raced I will admit that i was last to cross the finish line... Sheridan was dirty and sprinted at the end, Ryan saw it coming and sprinted too, so I was dusted... they are so going down next year :) Rubbin's Racin' Sherd.

Cookie Monsters

Holden went looking for Ridge and Kierra and he found a couple Cookie Monsters instead :)

Annie

We went to Annie this week with My sister and my best friends from childhood. We used to play Annie all the time when we were kids, mostly at my house because ours was the most in need of cleaning. It was fun to see the Broadway version (well half of it anyway... Gray got sick and we had to leave early). I kept expecting things from the movie to pop up but it was very different, good, but different. Punjab is not in the play version! Despite having to leave early we had a great time (well I had a great time... Gray probably doesn't have the fondest memories of the evening) :) Thanks Shelly for putting the evening together!

Hangin Ten!

Gray turned 10 years old today! She has had a weekend packed full of fun stuff. We didn't do an official party so I think she got a lot more celebrating than if we had. We had several dinners, went to see the movie Nim's Island and we will be going to see Annie on Wednesday. Gray was super excited when her dad got her a bike... a 24" bike which is just shy of being a women's bike! All the celebrating she totally deserves and I am so lucky to have such a great daughter! I love you Graybee Baby!

Mother Hips

We recently went to see the Mother Hips in SLC. It was so much fun hanging with Jack and Marin and the best part was that Joel and I were kid free for the evening (Sheridan you rock!). It had been almost a decade since I had seen the Hips in concert and it was just as much fun, although recovering took a lot longer than it did back in the day.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday started with church, 9 am church no less! Sheridan and her kids, our family and my parents met at my parents church. All went well minus Holden being cornered behind the speaker and bishop by my father and another man (this took a couple minutes and it was in the middle of a very heart felt and touching talk). We were all so mortified and amused at the same time. We then had a great dinner made by Joel and Ryan at my parents, then had an egg hunt with all the kiddo's. All in all a pretty good Easter Sunday. I am bummed that I didn't get any pictures of the kids in their Sunday best. I had a pretty cute brood today.
